Lizzie Pollock

As Assistant Director of Social Entrepreneurship at Brown University, Pollock is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the Social Innovation Initiative's programs.  Pollock runs the Starr fellowship, advises students, and works with student groups and activities around social innovation.

After graduating from Connecticut College, she participated in the JOIN for Justice fellowship, a program for Jewish young adults to develop community organizing skills.  She then joined the staff of Stand for Children as a community organizer, building teams of parents, teachers, and community members to take political action on behalf of their schools.  After two years of organizing, Pollock transitioned to Stand for Children's national staff, where she helped develop the capacity of the organization and led efforts to better attract, retain, and develop staff.  A training professional, Pollock has developed a wide range of curricula and facilitated numerous trainings on community organizing, leadership, political campaigning, and strategic planning.
