Patricia Márquez

Patricia Márquez is an Associate Professor of Management at the University of San Diego and the Faculty Director of USD's Changemaker HUB. Before coming to USD, Márquez was a professor at IESA Business School in Caracas, Venezuela. She was the Cisneros Scholar at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) at Harvard University and visiting scholar at Harvard Business School for the academic year 2005-2006. She teaches Social Entrepreneurship, Business Initiatives with the Base-of-the-Pyramid, and Business & Society. Márquez current research is on the role business can play in alleviating poverty worldwide. She is an active participant of the Social Enterprise Knowledge Network (SEKN) and has published teaching cases, articles and books on social enterprise and leadership. Márquez graduated with a B.A in Mathematics from Bowdoin College and a Ph.D in Socio-Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.
