Categories Announced for the 7th Annual Cordes Innovation Awards

Ashoka U and the Cordes Foundation are proud to recognize leading models of social innovation education through the Cordes Innovation Award. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding programmatic innovations that transform how colleges and universities foster changemaking education on campus.

History of the Award

The Ashoka U – Cordes Innovation Award was established in 2011, at the first annual Ashoka U Exchange at Duke University. Since then, Ashoka U and the Cordes Foundation have recognized 35 outstanding curricular, co-curricular, research and applied learning innovations in higher education.

Awardees from years prior include programs from Babson College, Cornell University, Duke University, Middlebury College, Oregon University, Stanford University, and Tulane University. Click here to see the full list of Awardees and program profiles.

2017 Cordes Innovation Award

In 2017 the Cordes Innovation Award will be given to the top best practice in each of the following categories:

  1. Academic Student Learning
  2. Student Pathways in Social Innovation Education
  3. Marketing & Communication of Social Innovation Education Offerings
  4. Faculty/Staff Education & Professional Development
  5. Student Services & Student Affairs

Entries for the Cordes Innovation Award must be submitted by completing a “Best Practice Presentation” application for the Exchange by October 5, 2016.

Awarded programs will be featured on the agenda at the 2017 Ashoka U Exchange, co-hosted by Miami Dade College, on March 2-4, 2017 in Miami, Florida.
