Why partner with Ashoka?
Three decades ago Ashoka pioneered the concept of social entrepreneurship. Today, Ashoka has identified and elected more than 2,500 social entrepreneurs in 70 countries solving some of the most difficult global problems.
Ashoka is in the unique position to share both examples of systems-changing solutions and experience nurturing social entrepreneurs with the academic sector. Ashoka’s unparalleled network and field knowledge of social entrepreneurship gives value to a Changemaker Campus designation and provides the platform for a thriving consortium learning community and collaboration with Ashoka Fellows. Launched in 2008, the Ashoka U initiative seeks to leverage the entire university ecosystem (i.e. admissions, research, curriculum and co-curriculum, career and alumni services) and Ashoka’s extensive network to catalyze large-scale social impact.
What is the role of Ashoka U?
Ashoka U serves as accelerator, thought partner and convener to support change leaders at Changemaker Campuses in reaching their institutional goals, to promote Changemaker Campus leadership and highlight accomplishments, to facilitate the work of the consortium in advancing the social entrepreneurship education movement, and to connect Changemaker Campuses to innovative collaboration projects with Ashoka and leading social entrepreneurs.
