Tec de Monterrey, Campus Guadalajara defines social entrepreneurship as the process of finding opportunities that could be addressed through innovation and leadership to solve world’s problems and, consequently, create social and economic value. Known as the main entrepreneurial university in Mexico with a history of pioneering and long achievements developing entrepreneurs, now Guadalajara seeks to also leverage great entrepreneurs that are conscious of their role as change agents in the world.

The university that developed the first career in business entrepreneurship in Mexico, have gathered a strong multidisciplinary team of leaders that are aligned and committed to the idea that entrepreneurship can change the world and impact society in a positive way. “The strengths of Tec de Monterrey, Campus Guadalajara, are the people that work here and that spread the entrepreneurial virus in the campus. These people have a tangible commitment to make their work have a relevant significance in the community.” says Isaac Lucatero, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and change leader for the Tec Changemaker Campus team.

As a Changemaker Campus, Tec de Monterrey, Guadajara is broadening its vision and working on new projects that will have a great impact in the country. In order to do so, it developed academic and nonacademic efforts to empower people through entrepreneurship and innovation. Examples of these efforts comprise various experiential learning opportunities within the curriculum and proper infrastructures in campus to enhance student’s entrepreneurial efforts, like a High-Tech Incubator, a Business Accelerator and an Innovation Center that is specialized in consulting services for community businesses.

Furthermore, TEC is also creating an ecosystem to organize all the key players in social innovation in Mexico, including government institutions, business groups and other universities to converge towards a common goal of social change.
