“Early Bird” registration begins. Price is $699.

Last day for “Early Bird” registration price. Full price registration is $850 for non-students on November 17, 2016.
February 7, 2017
Last day to submit an application to attend the Exchange.
February 17, 2017
Last day to submit the registration fee.
March 2-4, 2017

Travel & Accommodations

The 2017 Exchange will take place at the Hilton Miami Downtown and at Miami Dade College. Ashoka U has reserved a hotel block at the Hilton for Exchange participants.

For participants flying to Miami, we recommend the Miami International Airport (MIA).


 

FAQ

How do I attend the Exchange?

Ashoka U uses a two-step application and registration process to ensure we select and convene leading innovators in higher education at the Exchange.

STEP 1: Submitting an application

First, you will submit an application on Ashoka U’s exclusive application platform. To be considered, applicants must create or update a general platform profile and submit the Exchange specific application linked on the platform. It also provides a space to submit a presentation or facilitation proposal.

Accepted participants must demonstrate a track record and interest in social impact and changemaking within higher education. All participants must submit an application in order to attend.

STEP 2: Registering to attend 

Second, once you’ve been selected to attend, we’ll email you a private registration and payment link. This email will also include other logistical details including hotel information.

When does the conference begin and end?

The Exchange is tentatively scheduled to officially kickoff at 10:00am on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Hilton Miami Downtown and conclude with the closing ceremony around 5:30pm on Saturday, March 4, 2017. We will welcome all attendees for an informal, poolside “Meet & Greet” on the evening of March 2, 2017 at the Hilton Miami.

Why an application?

The application helps us to ensure that everyone who attends the Exchange has familiarity with the ideas, concepts, and best practices around social innovation in the context of higher education and is committed to creating change at their institution. Establishing this baseline of expertise will enable us to achieve even greater things throughout the weekend and build partnerships that will continue past the Exchange.

How do I present at the Exchange?

As part of the general Exchange application on MyAshokaU.org, you are able to submit your presentation proposal through answering a series of specific questions. We do not accept abstracts.

To be considered for a presentation we must receive your completed application by midnight PST on October 5, 2016. Ashoka U prioritizes high quality, tested models to include on the agenda that align with the overall themes. The majority of the presentations involve 3-4 experts and a facilitator speaking on a topic or theme. When does the conference officially begin and end?

How much does it cost to attend the Exchange?

Ashoka U offers a discounted early-bird registration ($699) from November 2 – November 16, 2016. Beginning on November 17, 2016 the registration fee will increase to $850. We hold a limited number of student tickets at the rate of $475. Once sold out, students tickets cost $699.

What is the refund policy?

Ashoka U is able to offer a full or partial refund depending on the date:

  • December 21, 2016– Full refund
  • February 1, 2017 – 50% refund

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds after February 1, 2017. Please contact Emily Lamb at elamb@ashoka.org if you would like to request a refund.
