Changemaking Research Showcase:

In keeping with the Forum’s theme of Changemaking Research, we invite researchers, practitioners, students, social entrepreneurs, artists, and community leaders, to share their experiences in designing, conducting, communicating and evaluating research that seeks to effect positive social change. 

Participants in the Changemaker Education Research Forum can expect opportunities to build relationships and seed collaborations; share learnings; bridge theory and praxis; and engage in group-learning about changemaking in the Canadian post-secondary context.

Submitting Your Proposal:

We invite 250-word proposals (or other formats that clearly express the key ideas and components of the presentation) from faculty and student researchers and others (educators, practitioners, Ashoka Fellows, Change Leaders) with interests and experience in research for changemaking. 

 Topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Emerging research on Changemaking pedagogy
  • Principles that enable research to effect change
  • Evaluating changemaking research
  • Lessons learned in collaborative / partnership-based research
  • Reaching your intended audience(s)
  • Graduate students and changemaking research
  • Student perspectives on purpose-driven research
  • Research, changemaking and the UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Group discussion of a selected book that interrogates thorny issues in contemporary changemaking.  Examples include, but are not limited to: Empathy (Paul Bloom), Collaborating with the Enemy (Adam Kahane), or Winners Take All (Anand Giridharadas). 

In your proposal, please indicate your availability/preferences for the following dates and times:

  • Monday, March 15, (1-3 pm eastern)
  • Wednesday, March 17 (11 am-1 pm eastern)
  • Thursday, March 18 (2:30-4:30 pm eastern)
