UFV Designated as a Changemaker Campus
Recognized for their commitment to community-rooted innovation and social transformation, the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) has joined Ashoka’s network of leading higher education changemaker institutions as of September 2025!
As an Ashoka U Changemaker Campus, the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) champions community-engaged learning and research that turn ideas into action across and beyond the Fraser Valley.
UFV embraces changemaking as a lens to address contemporary challenges and shape a more equitable future for its students, employees, and communities. Through creative problem-solving and a dedication to understanding the human impacts of issues, UFV strives towards a future of engaged, empowered citizens.
How does UFV do that? With four guiding principles: empowerment, decolonization and Indigenization, sustainability, and reciprocity. By approaching every challenge with these four values, UFV aims to improve the lives of the people in and around the campus' community.

UFV's Indigenous Student Centres provide support for the nearly 5% of UFV students who self-identify as Aboriginal people, and cultural events open to all students.
